What’s On In March

There has not been any observation trials events over the past two weeks (apart from Fellside Auto’s classic long distance event), but now, in March, with the weather hopefully set to improve, there’s a trial every Sunday.

Westmorland begin with the Milnthorpe Cup on March 6 which is round 3 of the ACU S3 Championship series and the trial has attracted a huge entry of 160 riders. The start field is at Bowland Bridge and clerk of the course Anthony Brockbank has set out a testing 15 mile course of 36 sections in the Lythe Valley. A god trial to spectate and see some good club and centre level riders in action with a comprehensive programme available.

A week later, March 13 Barrow return to action with the Founder Members trial which was postponed in February and which will run at Lindale over the land known as Tythebarn Allotment, which is effectively next to the land owned by Westmorland. Regulations and entries will be on-line through the ACU system.

The same entry system will be used by Bootle for their Gowan Construction multi class trial at Fell Green on March 20, and finally, on March 27 Barrow will be back in action with the Northern Centre Championship round, DR Burrow Trial in Graythwaite Forest – always a good event on a cracking piece of land. Again entries will be through the ACU system.
