Charity foundation the big winners

A couple of weeks ago the Barrow Club held the Diane Shield Memorial Trial at Tow Tops, which attracted 58 riders and a number of interested spectators.

It was the fifth running of this trial which was a charity event in aid of the Make-a-Wish Foundation, a charity for critically ill children that  enables them to full-fill their special wishes whilst they are able. Thanks to the riders who attended and to all those who bought raffle tickets, and also to the Auto-Cycle Union who generously waived the insurance costs for the trial, the total amount raised from the day was £1790 which will be passed on to the charity organisation.

Nick Shield, who organised the trial for the Barrow Club who generously agreed to provide the facilities for the event said: “this was a magnificent amount to raise from one trial, and our family are eternally grateful to those who contributed in any way.”
