Grant trial returns for August 2

Grant trial returns for August 2

The Northern Centre was without the Westmorland Club’s Grant Trial last year due to local reasons, but that didn’t mean the end of the Northern Centre round as the trial returns this year, on a slightly later date which has been approved and sought after for the 2026 event.

Malcolm Metcalfe and his team will be setting out a 3 lap trial over a course length of about 4 miles for the AUGUST 2 promotion which will continue in a format to similar trials at this venue in the past.

The venue being a start at Tommy Road, Wharton, Kirkby Stephen which is flagged from the Kirkby Stephen to Sedbergh road about two miles out of the tourist town. This is a particularly good trial with a fair and varied selection of sections. As a championship round there will be the usual three courses, Hard, Green and Clubman, so make 10.30 on Sunday August 2 the place you’ll be for a enjoyable day in the fantastic countryside of eastern Cumbria.
