Improving Smith takes Threlkeld easy win

The popular Threlkeld Quarry venue was the location for the third and final evening charity trial to be organised by the Bassenthwaite club to round off a successful series of events that have attracted a regular group of riders.

The main clubman course was over the normal four lap 10 section format where Chris Dixon, riding to assist his lad in becoming a successful trials rider, took the overall win with the loss of a single mark whilst locals Dan Gaskell and Stuart Gaskell took the second and third position with the scores of two and three.

An easy course is always brought into action in these evening trials to attract the less able or much older riders and this time it was the ever improving Tom Smith whose perseverance to get better proved worthwhile as he lost just three marks to finish ahead of Gordie Oliver and Tony Johnson.

Despite entries being lower this summer season than they have been in recent pre-covid years, nevertheless there has always been a decent turnout at Bassenthwaite’s events and the club appreciate those riders making the effort to take part, and also to the regular group of observers.

The results are below and NOT on the Results page and Eric Kitchen’s pictures are now in the Gallery – all 35 of them!!
