Lakes Triple D series ends
Even though there was a whole host of local riders away in the Isle of Man for the Classic Manx Two Day, Lakes GTRC managed to attract a healthy 45 strong entry to their Bank Holiday Monday trial held at Staveley.
With three routes through the ten sections, there was something for everyone with Wilf Shuttleworth taking the Hard course premier from Matt Hopkinson from the North West Centre by a comfortable margin , third going to Connor Anderson.
Former Allan Jefferies national trial clerk of the course Richard Taylor, organised not only one of the best trials in the country – sadly no longer promoted by the Bradford club – but was also a very capable rider in his own right. Now retired, Clubman trials are his forte and he won on Monday losing just 10 marks with Brad Butterworth second and Scott Cunningham, who has gained much experience through the year by riding loads of nationals, finishing third.
Scores were higher on the Easy course with several DNFs recorded, but the winner was Tony Johnston with a 4 mark advantage over Blake Jackson whilst Over 60 returnee Andrew Kenyon was third.
