What’s On for November

What’s On for November

With November heralding the last few weeks of 2025, there’s plenty of action for the trials fraternity over the coming weekends.
Whilst most riders would appear to have no interest in the management of the sport, that doesn’t alter the fact that “things happen” and the first of those is this weekend when on Saturday, 8th, the Northern Centre delegate to the ACU, Mike Rapley, travels to Rugby for the twice yearly meeting, which this time  has some importance following the ACU’s publication “The Way Forward”, the basis of which is the planned change to reduce the number of Centres down from 22 to 13, which if it goes ahead, will amalgamate the Northern Centre with the North East Centre to create a new regional Centre called “Northern”. Quite why this is suggested and what the benefits to either Centre are is yet to be revealed, hence the reason it’s important that our delegate attends the meeting.
The following day, Remembrance Sunday is the Centre’s Annual General Meeting on  November 9 which will be held at the Gilpin Bridge hotel on the A590. Not only is this the AGM (3pm) but it is also the DATES MEETING starting at 1.30pm when the all the Centre clubs request the dates they wish to be allocated from March 1, 2026 – February 28, 2007. (Dates before March 1 are already decided.) The awards won in Centre Championship trials are also presented that day following the AGM meeting. Whilst YOUR attendance is not demanded, it would be really good to have more riders attend, if only to show an interest and see what happens once a year with regard to running the sport.
Moving on from Centre formalities, the next event of note is Cumberland County MCC’s Memorial Trial which is round 2 of the Northern Centre Championship. It’s on Sunday 16th November at Raughton Ghyll, Fellside, Caldbeck Cumbria, CA7 8HA with a start time of 10.30 am. It’s open to Adult Solos plus Youth A & B classes with Hard Green and Clubman Courses over three or four laps of roughly 5 miles around a river valley all off road
Clubman is the easiest course but may still be a challenging ride round for beginners.
Entries online only via ACU Sport 80
Entries will close at 2pm Saturday 15th November or when full.
Bootle SC are next on the agenda with round one of the Gowan Construction multi-class series at Fell Green on November 23, which will be the final event in November before the December events take place.
