2025 – Scotland post 5
There’s a clash of news this Monday evening after the opening day of this year’s Scottish Six Days Trial – the weather has been fantastic, hot sun, blue sky with barely a wisp of cloud to be seen and 14 time winner Dougie Lampkin – who likely still had a 99% chance of winning – went flying over the handlebars at Lagnaha’s first section when he suffered what every other trials rider in the world has suffered, a totally unexpected, totally unavoidable mega crash. Been there, done that as everybody could say.
Two cleans sheets today, Harry Hemingway and Adam Raga, with both the Peace brothers, Jack and Dan on 2 marks lost. Billy Green, Harry Turner, Jack Dance and Jack Price (last year’s winner of course) on 3 with other notable names being Daniel on 4, Dougie Lampkin 6 and George Hemingway on 7. Obviously at this stage all very much still to play for with some harder sections lined up for Tuesday, including two new groups.
Richard Gaskell tops the Northern Centre riders in 51st with Will Brockbank 57th with Tom Swindlehurst and Cameron Brice locked together on 30 marks for 60th and 61 st place.
The only problem today that became apparent was Tom Knight’s Scorpa refusing to start at the second section of Cameron Hill which father Juan had to fix by changing the battery which seemed to cure whatever the problem was
Spectator attendance appears to be prolific, the weather obviously helps but Cnoc a Linnie where there were 2 new sections, Cameron Hill and Lagnaha all had fans thronging the Banksides.
