Allen is Centenary victor
Take a huge expanse of some of the best trialing countryside in the north, add in some fantastic warm and sunny conditions, plan a two day course and attract nearly 70 riders on classic bikes plus a few oldies on less ancient machinery and you have the best offering possible – that’s what Cumberland County MCC put together for their annual Centenary trial at Newbiggin in the east of the county of Cumbria.
Some riders rode both days, a few riders only rode one day and quite a fed succumbed to the baking hot conditions and decided discretion was the better part of valour, but the majority tackled the two laps each day with enthusiasm.
With numerous classes over the two courses, the marks lost were varied but the best overall was by South Midland visitor Richard Allen who only lost 8 marks over the entire trial.
