Brocky’s Barrow Revenge

Brocky’s Barrow Revenge

The Barrow Club’s Revenge trial returned to its previous format, based from a start area high above the Broughton to Torver road for three laps of a long lap taking in the fells and woods used previously – at least the part of the wood currently accessible as fallen trees remain to be cleared for better access to the lower parts.

Just 32 riders  entered, a disappointing number for such a well respected event with Andy Downham winning the clubman course from Kevin Seward and Anthony Brockbank, whilst Mike Clark, making a return to the sport after some years showed that he has lost none of his ability to win the Green course from David Heys and Matt Hopkinson with Will Brockbank successful over Aran Drachenberg (apologies for the incorrect spelling in the results) in the Experts.

Whilst the Revenge has lacked decent support now for two years, the trial  remains one of the Centre’s best and the club are considering a date change that’s perhaps more suitable for the time of year as much of the reason for the move into September is because of other events having to move dates.
