There was a tie at the top of the Clubman class at the Barrow club’s Henry Trial, held at the Old Railway Line, Torver, with Pete Clibburn (lead picture) and Martin Jackson finishing the four laps of ten sections each on four marks lost. Peter Clibburn had more cleans than Martin Jackson, losing his marks in just two sections whereas Jackson lost his marks in three sections.
In a low scoring trial for the Clubmen, Ben Hanson was a further mark behind on five with Gary Kitchen and Karl Ratcliffe sharing third place on six marks apiece. The well used venue provides a great variety of sections from streams to sections in grass with banks and rocks and also some decent climbs, depending upon the whims of those who set out the course. This time there were some new or rarely used sections which would appear to have found favour with the riders, of whom 39 took part.
Ten of those rode the hard course which was dominated by Tom Swindlehurst
