Entries for Cumberland’s two day classic now open
Here’s all the details you will need about the upcoming Cumberland County Mike Hodgson two day classic trial on Saturday and Sunday, September 7/8.
It’s a trial open to Pre65, Twinshock & Aircooled Monos – there is no C and D class in this event and
Class awards are only for period machines – ie you may be allowed to ride your modern A/C Mono but on a no award basis.
The venue is Lightfoots Caravan Park, Gilside Farm, Glenriddding, Cumbria CA11 0QQ where
camping is available, but first please contact Lightfoots Caravan Park, on 017684 82346
The event start times are Saturday, 1pm and on Sunday 10am and the course is all off-road using both farm and fell terrain on both days with a different course each day. The entry fee is £55 and entries will be limited to 65 riders on a first come, first served basis and entries will only be available through the ACU Sport 80 on-line system, the link being:
The closing date is September 4 or earlier if the entry reaches 65 in advance of the closing date and there are no telephone entries available. Results will be posted on the club’s website and Facebook page and on here, www.northerncentreacu.co.uk.
The R. Shaw award will be for best Twinshock, the W T Tiffen cup for best CCMCC Member. Marking will be no-stop and the venue will be flagged from A592 Penrith to Windermere, and in Glenridding village.
The trial is run on private land on both days (within the Lake District National Park) as normal observe the Country Code, ride only on the marked route. Do not stray or cut corners.
