Revamp for the Lonsdale

Westmorland MC open their 2023 season with the Lonsdale Trial on January 29, a round of the Northern Centre Championship in a revised format, that will start from the club’s own land at Firbank near Sedbergh which can be reached from junction 37 of the M6. Please note that overnight works at this junction take place from 8pm Saturday night until 8am Sunday morning.

Starting at 10.30am, the trial will feature two groups of sections which promise to be excellent and which  includes a significant hillclimb. Whilst the land is new to most riders likely to take part, it has been used by the club previously, but not for a good many years. In addition, much of the land used in previous years is retained by clerk of the course Anthony Brockbank who is confident that again the Lonsdale will be a worthy Northern Centre event.

Recognising that using punch cards tend to delay trials, it will be back to observer sheets this time which should help progress the event which finished in the dark last year. Start time will be 10.30am and it’s ENTER AT THE START, and with few other trials on this weekend, the club is expecting a bumper entry.
