Super Saturday at Lindale

Super Saturday at Lindale

Moving a trial from a regular Easter Good Friday date to Easter Saturday was a calculated move by the Westmorland Club, undertaken to avoid a clash on Friday with Lancs County. It proved to be a good move as the trial at the club’s own land at Lindale attracted a healthy entry of 37 riders to tackle four extremely slippery sections, not helped by a very hard shower as soon as the trial started which lasted for a good half hour.

A fairly easy clubman course and easier version of the same sections was used but it was the ultra slippery section two that proved to be the main problem. Over four laps, only overall winner George Emmott  lost one there, Graeme Carr on two, Peter Blowers, debuting his new Factory Beta Sinchro on four and Karl Ratcliffe on nine remained in single figures – the rest all lost in to double figures. The section was not dangerous, just extremely slippery in the mud, whilst the rest of the ten sections were gentle for a multi-class trial at Easter.

As is often the case, Graham Knight, undoubtedly the most senior of riders on the much easier course, won on 22 with Angus Knox next on double Knight’s score.

Full results are available from the Results page. Thanks to Erik and Neil Buckley for setting out a sensible Easter trial on a Saturday, which has encouraged the club to go for another one or perhaps two Saturday trials later this year.
