Tie at the top in the Holmes Trial

Storm Beolo put a stop to the Westmorland Club running the John Holmes Trial at Lindale on Saturday October 24 so the club moved the trial back a day to Sunday but the combined circumstances resulted in a small entry for this trial which was primarily aimed at twinshock machines with just 16 riders attending.

However, with Erik Buckley at the helm setting out with assistance from the enthusiastic Toby Jackson, they put on a great trial which was jointly won by Brett Willis and 15 year old Toby on just 12 marks apiece with Ronnie Looker campaigning his Francis Barnett to third on 22.

All riders rode the same Clubman sections as they would have back in the days when John Holmes would have ridden and with the climate generally behaving itself on the day, another good event wrapped up the Westmorland Club’s events outdoors for the year.
