From Maxine Hayhurst – Northern Centre Secretary
THERE IS A CHANGE OF VENUE FOR THE CENTRE BOARD MEETINGS FROM TUESDAY 29TH APRIL 2025.
It is with regret that I inform those of you that might not know, but The Villa Hotel closed its doors to business more or less just after we held our Meeting in March .
I have approached a couple of venues for pricing and function rooms, unfortunately either they were wanting too much money to hold the meeting or were unable to accommodate us .
I have secured the back room of the Gilpin Bridge pub at Levens which is on the A590, a mile or so down the road from The Villa and The Heaves Hotel. We have used the Gilpin in the past for AGM’S . They are also able to reserve this part of the pub each month.
As they stop serving food at 8pm, Scott the manager feels that they can accommodate us in this area as I couldn’t give accurate numbers for who would be attending in person, as there is never really more than 12 delegates and officials present. It is not ideal but will hopefully work out cheaper than one quote which was £110 per meeting. Scott assures me that if they are busy then they will open up the function room for us at no extra charge to Centre. Sandwiches and Chips are going to be provided for the Meeting.
The next issue is Zoom for those that can’t attend in person. I cant promise that there will be enough wifi, I’m happy to try but please bear in mind the meeting might not start bang on 8pm as it will take me a few minutes to get organised, especially if we are waiting for tables.
If you would all let me know you have received this email or read this posting please, so that I know you are notified of the change of venue, and zoom details will come out to you all Monday
It is not the best access as you are crossing the A590, SO PLEASE BE CAREFUL .
Maxine.
