Walker adds AMA title to his success portfolio
He was brought up in the Lake District town of Keswick and took up trials as a child, following in the wheel tracks of his older brother who was also a trials rider.
With his trials riding dad, he travelled to local club trials in the Northern and North West Centres, progressing through the youth classes until he was a rider good enough to consider entering European Championship events.
Those European Championship events are expensive to contest, so our young rider and his dad teamed up with a fellow young rider from the North West and his dad, and for a couple of years this pair of keen young trials lads did their best in the Euro scene as well as riding as many big trials in the UK as they could manage.
Of the two, one went on to become not only very good in trials, but even better in the demanding sport of extreme enduros, particularly those indoors and now, after many years of determination, lost sponsorship deals and having to pay his own way, JONNY WALKER has become the American Motorcycle Association (AMA) national Superenduro champion, beating the very best indoor racers in America, in addition to being the runner-up in the 2024 FIM Superenduro World Championship, beaten only by the incredible Billy Bolt.
So on behalf of all bikers from the Northern Centre, many congratulations to Jonny Walker on his incredible success with good wishes for future success aboard his fully sponsored factory Triumph.
