Gaskell is the Dixie Dee boss

Brownrigg Fell has always been a popular venue for Cumberland County trials and it proved to be the same again in the middle of October for the Dixie Dee trial where 60 riders took part in a clubman trial which featured a normal clubman course and an easy clubman course which was ridden by 25 riders.

Best on the clubman course was Stuart Gaskell, fresh from observing at the previous day’s Scott Trial, losing only 2 marks to finish 8 ahead of Neil Sharp with David Braithwaite a further mark behind on 11.

Lewis Gaskell, who was with his dad doing his bit at the time and observation classic had his new 250 Scorpa and finished a fine seventh as he consistently improves as time progresses. Special mention to Youth B rider Aaron Oliver who is another improving rapidly to win his class and be eighth overall.

On the easy clubman course it was veteran Cliff Metcalfe who was best, losing 10 markls with David Broderick second a five mark difference between them with David Maxwell in third.
