Our men in classic action

The recent Classic Manx Two Day Trial in the Isle of Man was visited by a significant number of Northern Centre riders and also riders from outside Cumbria who frequently take part in Northern Centre events and it was a most successful  result for these riders with two Cumbrian riders winning the trial and a third North Western visitor taking a top position.

Carl Batty of the Sedbergh Club was the outright Best Performer, losing just 2 marks over the two days to take the Pre 65 Under 35 category (on the hard course)  with Ben Butterworth second on 9 marks lost. Kiaran Hankin in the same class, but for riders Over 35 was the winner on 3 marks lost whilst in the Pre 65 Clubman category, riding the slightly easier course, Paul Norman was the winner with the loss of 7 marks and the Centre’s Vice Chairman Angus Jenkinson  took his recently built BSA round into fourth place in the Pre 65 Clubman.

As far as we can see there were eight Cumbrians taking part with only one retirement  when Michael Batty’s James seized.
