Passing of Mike Crackles
We are saddened to report the passing of Mike Crackles following a long degenerative illness, last Sunday, March 15 in Lancaster Infirmary.
Mike, who was 66, was one of the joint landowners with his brother David, at Ivah Allotments, Low Gill where the Lancs County club holds trials, and was himself a keen pre 65 trials rider on Triumph Cubs. He leaves his wife Mary, two sons and a daughter.
It was Mike’s desire to ride in the Pre 65 Scottish Two Day Trial at some point, but the April/May date always clashed with lambing time so he was never able to fulfill that wish. However he did ride an alternative two day trial in Scotland, taking in the Highland classic Alvie trial.
The funeral service will be at Tunstall Church on Wednesday, March 25 at 12.30pm.
The picture of Mike on his Cub was taken by Eric Kitchen in February 2017 in a section on his own land at Low Gill.
