Support wanted for Tommy’s Trial

The gentleman that was Tommy Brady is unfortunately no longer with us having passed away in late 2020, and it’s the Lakes Club who wish to remember him by running the Tommy Brady charity trial which is now only a few days away. Tommy was a regular rider, but only took up trials in his later years but had a distinguished career before trials as a British Champion weightlifter and as part of a professional waterski display team. A successful business man, Tommy was devoted to his Irish nationality and was proud to say that he lived the good life as a non-smoking, non-drinking, joke telling Irishman. And when riding became impractical, he was only too happy to observe most Sundays for all the clubs in the Centre

Unfortunately, the entries are slow in arriving, so this is a call for all you guys who enjoyed Tommy’s unique blend of humour and his regular observing, to recognise his contribution to the sport, by deciding to ride this event for which there are many raffle prizes on offer.

The date is FRIDAY JUNE 3 and the venue is Redscarr, Underbarrow and of course entries are available on line, and the Lakes Club are hoping that this last minute plea bears fruit.

Our picture of Tommy is from the Grant trial about 2006 or 7 on his Beta.
