A trio of the Brice family

Will Brockbank

There were three members of the Brice family riding in Sunday’s Cumberland County MCC Memorial trial at Roughton Gill near Caldbeck and two of the three won their respective classes outright.

Cameron Brice was the winner of the Expert course with a great ride losing just four marks which was a brilliant 11 fewer than James Postlethwaite whilast Cameron’s dad Darren was fourth behind Stephen Dixon in third. For those who analyse the Expert results int he Northern Centre, we ask if the scene is changing as both Brice and Postlethwaite have put in some good rides this autumn season.

This trial was the second round of the 2022/23 championship and like the first round some two weeks ago, attracted a good entry of over 70 riders split among the three classes.

Jack Dixon, still riding as a Youth A won the green course of 50/50 clubman and expert sections on 5 fom Alec Wray and Mike Instance whilst in the Clubman class it was third Brice family member, Simon who topped the largest category rider number with 7 from Anthony Brockbank’s 10.
