Free food at Sunday’s AGM

With no competitive events taking place this coming Remembrance weekend, it’s a good chance for riders and officials who either take part in or help to organise such events, to attend the Northern Centre’s Annual General Meeting and Prize Giving which will be held at The Villa Hotel, Levens on Remembrance Sunday, November 13.

These social occasions which by their very nature only happen once a year, provide the ideal opportunity for any like-minded enthusiast to attend where they can air their views about all or anything to do with events and their organisation in the Northern Centre, which is exclusively Cumbria.

The meeting starts at 3pm and most of those likely to attend arrive by about 2.30 for general chit-chat and it would be good to see a few more make the effort to attend, than has been the case in recent years.

All the Centre officials automatically stand down with most putting themselves up for re-election and in Any Other Business there’s the opportunity to have your say.

However, one official who is standing down and is NOT standing for re-election is the Centre’s Chairman, Robert Wilson who has been at the helm for the past 12 years and who has proven to be the most diplomatic and even-handed leader of the Centre anyone could wish for. Taking his place will be the current Vice Chairman, Angus Jenkinson who in turn will be replaced by Gary Gowan, so the Centre will remain in very good hands.

And the bonus is that the refreshments are all totally free, so we ask that if you have even the slightest notion that you may like to attend, then please do so as it is an enjoyable occasion and one that deserves your support.
