All the upcoming stuff in February

All the upcoming stuff in February

It’s that time again when we take a quick look at the upcoming events in the Northern Centre.

Starting off on February 2, the Barrow Club have the Frank Jackson trial which is a round of the Northern Centre Championship. It starts from The Old Railway Line, Torver, which is a regularly used base for a trial that can host any number of sections with a great variety including rocky streams, rocky and muddy banks and hill climbs. A truly excellent trial this one. It is on the road with a petrol stop over a single lap of around 32-36 sections, much depending on the weather that day. Start is at 10.30am with all entries on the morning.

Next up is the Bassenthwaite Club’s Robin Hood trial at Glenridding caravan park, Patterdale which is again a Centre Championship round. This is all on closed land, deep in the Cumbrian fells and a great set of sections, all basically rocky streams. Once again, 10.30 is the start time with entries on the day, no need to enter in advance but observers are needed as  is required at just about all trials.

Then we come to Cumberland County’s Aughertree trial which is covered in more detail in a short article  posted a few days ago, so you can read about that trial elsewhere on this website.

So the last trial of the month is again by the Barrow Club which is the Founder Members. That’s on February 23 but at the time of writing, the venue can’t yet be confirmed, but when it has been, the details will be .

And finally, the Westmorland Club have their Annual GeneraL Meeting on Thursday, February 27 at The Villa Hotel, Levens at 7.30pm. This is an open meeting at which anybody can attend to air their views, ask questions or generally get involved should they so wish to do.
