Final Westmorland evening trial all set-up

Final Westmorland evening trial all set-up

The five man team of Westmorland club members were out last Monday evening planning and plotting the sections for the club’s final round of their Wednesday evening trial series which will take place from 6.30pm on Wednesday, August 16 at a venue unused by the club for many years at Gatebeck near Kendal flagged from the Crooklands to Endmoor road.

This compact venue provides everything needed for an evening trial, about half a dozen sections in a long rocky stream that is challenging but sensible and the remainder on the classic rock outcrops that feature in most Northern Centre/Cumbrian trials. Parking is also excellent and for those not riding but wish to spectate, access to the sections is very easy with nothing much more than a gentle stroll to see the entire trial.

Entries will be taken on the day and depending upon the weather conditions it will be over three or four laps and riders are reminded that dusk approaches pretty quickly once we are into August so they need to get a move on as the stream sections are under the shade of trees.

Observers are required if you can help and there will be the choice of choccies or wine for those volunteering.

Following on from this last evening trial, the club have the prestigious Grant Trial, the final round of the 2022/2023 Northern Centre Championship, on September 24 at Tommy Road, Wharton Fell, Kirkby Stephen. Entries for this trial can be made on-line via the ACU Sport 80 system, the link being https://acu.sport80.com/v/913868/e/events/201745/stage/2575/register
