First three trials for August
Bootle SC’s Northern Centre Championship round kicks off events in Cumbria for August on the 3rd of the month. This will be the Presidents Trial and will be held at the excellent Po House venue near Millom, flagged from the Broughton to coastal road where Joel Gowan and Gary Gowan have been busy finding new sections at this easy to reach location. The format remains the same with three routes, Hard, Green and Clubman over four laps of a lengthened course.
Another Centre round takes place the following weekend, August 10 with the Barrow club’s Zeke Myers trial at Torver where the start will be at the Land Rover garage. This great trial on land overlooking Coniston Water is only used once per year and generally it’s three laps of 13 sections, though much depends on who will actually be setting out the trial this year. Again, the class format will follow the centre rules with Hard, Green and Clubman.
Then on Wednesday, August 13 Westmorland have their third and final evening trial, however at the time of writing this piece, the venue is still to be confirmed, so details will be on here soon.
