Low scores from Fell Green
Winning scores at the Bootle Club’s Gowan Construction opening 2023 championship round were low with Over 40 Clubman winner Simon Brice completing the four laps of 10 sections on just 3 marks lost, whilst Sean Radcliffe in the Under 40 class lost 5, Connor Anderson only lost 15 to win the Green 50/50 route but the lowest score of the day was Joel Gowan’s single mark penalty to win the Hard course.
A disappointing entry of 26 riders took part, but the weather was milder though windy at this venue, Fell Green, where just three weeks earlier the final Rockshocks round had been hit by torrential rain and high winds.
Peter Blowers and Ronnie Looker had a battle for second place in the over 50s with Blowers having more cleans for the placing with Jason Hornbly comfortably the runner up in the under 50 class.
