Major diversion hits Scott Trial fans
If you are planning to attend the Scott Trial this weekend, by warned that Clapgate Bridge, along the road from Marske village to Feldom Lane, where the Scott starts, is totally closed. That stretch of road has no vehicular access at all, not just for cars and vans but also motorcycles and bicycles.
This means that to get to the Scott start field, it is necessary to go from Marske village to Richmond town and then take the Marske road out of Richmond. It also means of course that when you leave the start field to go out to join the Scott course via road, you will need to turn left out of Feldom Lane, go into Richmond, then take the Reeth road out of Richmond. This will add 25 minutes to your journey time each way.
