Three up for Westmorland in two weeks

The brilliant Barbon Speed Hill Climb by the Westmorland Club still has entries available until Saturday, July 15. This 800 yard hill at Barbon Manor contains two sweeping bends, a long and very fast straight following by an attacking hairpin where the fastest times should be under 29 seconds, and with every rider getting six officially timed runs, plus practice runs, plus extra runs if they finish in the top ten, it’s a good day of sport for those who favour this discipline.

The event takes place on SATURDAY, July 22 from 9.30am and entries remain available until Saturday July 15 with the link to the entry facility being https://theeventapp.io/enter/q9AggeELyzLDy1Go3Orb.

And if you are not planning on being a competitor, then there is always the opportunity to watch from the grass covered hillside for the bargain entrance fee of just a tenner with under 15s free of charge.

And whilst we are on about entrance fees, don’t forget this Sunday.s (July 9) Helsington Classic Scramble, again by Westmorland which takes place just out of Kendal off the bypass where the spectator entrance fee is also £10.

And of course, there is the club’s evening trial on July 19 at Firbank  (https://acu.sport80.com/v/872606/e/events) where entries are on the day for four laps of the planned 8 or 10 sections, depending upon the weather and likely onset of dusk.
