Two in four days from Westmorland

The second Wednesday evening trial by the Westmorland Club takes place very soon – on July 19 to be exact, at the club’s own land at Firbank, above Sedbergh with flagging to the club’s venue from junction 37 of the M6.

Four enthusiastic members have plotted ten sections which will be ridden four times after the 6.30 start and will be of a different nature to the last evening trial three weeks previously.

This trial is the second of the planned three evening trials this summer and with all observers in line for either wine, chocolates or biscuits, it promises to be grand evening of trials riding. The views are spectacular, the sections have been set out by a new team, so support this new series of events from the Centre’s longest established club.

Then on Saturday, July 22, the annual Percy Duff Barbon Speed Hillclimb takes place at Barbon Manor with a strong entry of 65 riders where seven times TT winner Mick Grant will be the guest of the club. Practising starts at 9.30am and timed runs at the hill will be continuing throughout the day and this time includes five three wheel entries, four of them Morgans and a Curley trike, it’s worth the £10 admission if only to watch them tackle the 880 yard hill.
