High scores at Po House
The Hard Course scores proved to be large in number for the small entry on the Bootle SC’s Po House trial results sheet, yet the winner, Wilf Shuttleworth who only lost 32 was far, far ahead of his closest rivals on the land unused for trials since the Trial GB round more than a year ago.
James Postlethwaite and Stephen Dixon were almost double Shutty’s score whilst on the green course whilst only three riders took partt, Gavin Hazlett finished with five marks in hand over Ben Croasdale.
However, Lee Southam, a rider who is ever improving had what was undoubtedly one of his best rides to date to win the clubman class overall with the loss of just eight marks with Chris Garlick, over into Cumbria from the North West Centre was next on ten with the “old stagers”, Anthony Brockbank and Mark Quinn sharing third overall, Brocky getting the nod on most cleans.
With many regular riders from the centre over on the Isle of Man, the entry was significantlty depleted but despoite this, the entry of 28 declared a great trial.
