Two local trials for your holiday planning

It’s Bank Holiday weekend that is up next which means that for the trials boys there are two events on Sunday, August 27 and Monday, August 28 which are very close to each other, but not connected otherwise.

The Lakes GTRC have a trial at Cartmell Fell on land that has not been used for a while and riders should note that there is a new entrance to the venue which will be flagged from several places so that riders know where to go. The entrance is tight and it is off the Gummershowe road from Fell Foot park to Strawberry Bank. The usual format of four laps with entries taken on the day at the start of 10.30.

On August Bank Holiday Monday the Barrow Club are hosting the Diane Shield Memorial Trial at Tow Tops above High Newton where Nick Shield and Andrew Bingley have plotted a course on the highlands above the A590 Levens to Barrow/Ulverston road.

As well as being a good trial at this excellent venue, there is a raffle on the day with some superb prizes donated by local businesses. They can’t be revealed here, but some are truly worth winning. Again, start at 10.30 with entries on the day.
