Robinson romps to Gatebeck win

Robinson romps to Gatebeck win

This was the largest entry the club have received for an evening trial for a long time, indeed, it’s the largest entry for any of our club trials for several years apart from nationals, so thanks for supporting Westmorland.
As always it’s good to have a full house of observers, so our appreciations to Kirstie Wilson, Dave Parkinson, Anthony Brockbank, Paul and Johnathan Bethell, Mark Hewitt, Fi Newby, Spud Tatham, Bethan Sanders and Harold Whiteway who observed sections 1-10 in that order. Also to the Robinson family for the use of their land which is great for this type of trial.
We also wish to thank Eric Kitchen for again supporting the club as he does for every club in the Centre. His photographs are always excellent and many riders benefit from his generosity. Over the past 5 days, Eric has been the photographer at two trials and Rydal Show, pretty good commitment for a gent of his experience.

The club’s next trial is in October on Sunday October 27 at a venue yet to be decided, but likely Lindale. The clerk of the course for this trial was Erik Buckley assisted by Euan Robinson who did an excellent job. As this was the final round of the evening series, we will  work out the class winners over the next few days.
The full results are linked from the Home page and all will be able to see how they have fared in this final round of the evening series and Eric’s pictures will appear over the next day or so.
Without getting into a detailed report of the results which all can see, well done to  Liam Robinson for an excellent ride , thanks to Ronnie Looker’s dog for entertaining everybody as it chased after sticks through the sections and whilst most riders will have missed seeing the timber wagon and trailer being reversed back out of the venue after unloading, it really was a fine example of vehicle manouevering.
